Designing your wedding rings with Blacklock Jewellery is a relaxed, collaborative experience. Here’s how it works:

1. Book a Consultation

We’ll start with a private consultation in our London office (or online if you prefer). It’s a chance to share your ideas, inspiration and budget. We’ll guide you through shapes, metals, widths and finishes — so every detail is considered and feels right.

2. Try Samples & Explore Ideas

We will show you a range of sample rings you can try on to get a feel for the different shapes and styles. You can mix and match until you find a design that feels right for you.

We will also show you how your ring will sit and fit alongside an existing engagement ring and make recommendations to ensure a perfect match.

3. Custom Design & Quote

Once you’ve chosen your materials and style, we’ll confirm all the details and provide a quote. If your design requires more detail, we’ll bring it to life through drawings or 3D visuals, so you can clearly see how it will take shape.

4. Handcrafted with Care

With your design finalised, we begin handcrafting your rings — this typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Every stage is handled in-house — from casting the precious metal for the band to setting stones and applying your chosen finish.

5. Final Fitting & Collection

When your rings are ready, we’ll invite you in for a fitting or arrange secure delivery. All rings are presented in a Blacklock black box and hallmarked by the London Assay Office for quality and authenticity.

We recommend starting your wedding ring journey around 2–3 months before your wedding date. This gives us plenty of time to design, manufacture and perfect your rings — and allows time for final fittings or last-minute changes.

Design Deposit for Bespoke Rings

In some cases, particularly for more complex or unique designs, a design deposit may be required to cover the cost of creating detailed sketches or technical drawings. This deposit helps cover the time and work involved and is fully deducted from the final price of the ring if you go ahead with the commission. It’s not always necessary, but when it is, we’ll let you know upfront.
