Ring Types:

Engagement, Wedding, Eternity& Cocktail Rings

At Blacklock, engagement rings, wedding rings, eternity rings, and cocktail rings each carry unique character beyond convention. From a plain band that whispers quiet confidence to a solitaire or gemstone ring that expresses personality, every piece is designed to be worn and loved daily — marking milestones, celebrating anniversaries, or simply enjoyed as fine jewellery. Our collection includes bold, colourful cocktail rings and diamond or precious stone eternity rings symbolizing everlasting love and commitment, all crafted with care to suit individual style and meaning.

Gold & Platinum Rings:

Metal Types and Finishes

Our rings are crafted in solid gold or platinum — eighteen carat gold in yellow, white, or rose, each selected for its enduring strength and intrinsic worth. Whether you are drawn to the warmth of solid yellow gold, the cool refinement of white gold or platinum, or the romantic blush of rose gold, the metal you choose becomes part of your ring’s personality. Finishes may be softly matt or highly polished, according to preference. Discreet engraving can be incorporated where desired, completed with the same care and precision as the ring itself.

Natural Diamonds & Precious Gemstones:

How We Select Every Stone

We work exclusively with natural diamonds and precious gemstones. Every stone is rigorously hand selected to meet the highest standards of quality and beauty. Whether a white diamond, a vivid sapphire, an emerald, or a richly coloured gemstone ring that carries personal meaning, each stone is chosen to become a symbol of something lasting.
This exacting approach is the foundation of our reputation. A poorly chosen stone can compromise both a piece and our legacy, so only the finest stones are set into our jewellery. We provide certification on diamonds over 0.30cts and certain coloured stones. In cases such as for most commercial coloured
gemstones and diamonds below 0.30cts a certificate will not be supplied.

British Craftsmanship:

Handmade Rings by MasterGoldsmiths in London

Every ring in our collection is crafted with intention and exacting skill. Designed in-house and crafted in Britain, each piece is brought to life by master goldsmiths and craftsmen in London, who shape and refine the precious metalwork before any stones are set.
Expert setters then place diamonds and precious gemstones with precision,
followed by meticulous finishing to polish and perfect every detail.

Ring Quality & Authenticity:

Natural Diamonds, UK Hallmarking & Insurance Valuation

We work exclusively with natural diamonds, each formed over billions of years. Stones over 0.30 carats are independently certificated, while our melee is graded and hand-sorted to G–H colour and VS clarity unless stated otherwise.

Total carat weights may vary slightly; we conservatively estimate so the finished piece exceeds expectation.
Every ring is made in Britain by master craftspeople and goldsmiths and is
assayed and therefore hallmarked in the UK - we don’t compromise on this. We do not manufacture overseas.

Every ring over the value of £1,000 will come with an insurance valuation and relevant authenticity documentation from Blacklock.

Individuality:

Rings, As Individual As You Are

Blacklock Jewellers creates rings that are personal expressions of style and personality — each handcrafted in London using solid 18ct gold, platinum, rose gold, or white gold, and set with natural diamonds and precious gemstones.

From diamond engagement rings and platinum wedding bands to diamond eternity rings, plain bands, and gemstone cocktail rings, every design is made to be worn, loved, and treasured. Stacking Rings

Create Your Own Timeless style

Stacking isn’t just a trend — it’s an art form, and Blacklock does it with unmistakable flair. Imagine the bold texture of the Empower Small Chain Ring meeting the refined sparkle of the Brilliance 40 Half Diamond Band, all anchored by the timeless polish of the Hawthorn Platinum Diamond Unisex Wedding Band. These stackable rings combine different cuts, textures, and metals for a personalised, elegant look that’s both modern and timeless. Whether mixing gold rings or platinum bands, stacking allows you to create your own unique ring stack that reflects your style and personality.

A ring stack is one of the most personal expressions of style in fine jewellery. Combine a plain band with a diamond eternity ring and a gemstone ring for a layered look that is entirely your own — a wearable reflection of personality and inspiration. Rings can be worn alone or stacked across fingers to create a personal mix of metals, diamonds, and coloured gemstones that evolves over time. Whether worn as a single statement or layered with other pieces of jewellery, stacked rings should feel balanced, comfortable, and naturally elegant on the hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing Your Style
What types of ring does Blacklock sell?
At Blacklock, our rings take many forms — cocktail rings, gemstone rings, plain bands, signet rings, wedding bands, engagement rings, eternity rings — but we deliberately avoid labels. Every piece is designed to be worn as it feels right for the individual. There are no rules, only the freedom to choose what truly resonates with your personality and style.
How do I find the perfect ring?
Finding the perfect ring is a journey of discovery and inspiration. It begins with exploring different metals — yellow gold, platinum, rose gold — a variety of stones including natural diamonds and precious gemstones, and styles from plain bands to elaborate gemstone and fashion rings, imagining how each combination reflects your story. At Blacklock, every element can be personalised, including custom engravings, ensuring the final piece is not only exquisite but uniquely yours. If you would like guidance, our team are always pleased to help — in person at our London showroom or via private consultation.
Does the ring need to reflect the wearer's character?
A successful ring feels instinctive on the hand. Whether refined and understated — a sleek plain band, a solitaire diamond, or a eternity ring — or rich with personality in the form of a bold gemstone or sculptural cocktail ring, proportion and material choice should align naturally with the wearer. There is no single correct answer; only the one that feels entirely right. We guide each client toward that point with patience and expertise.
Is this ring marking a particular milestone?
A ring chosen to mark an anniversary, birthday or personal achievement should feel enduring rather than trend-led — a true symbol of the moment it represents. Engagement rings, in particular, warrant exceptional consideration, traditionally worn on the left ring finger. Each Blacklock engagement ring is approached with the care of a bespoke commission, ensuring proportion, setting, and stone are resolved with precision and intent. We are pleased to guide you through every decision, however significant.
When should I choose a collection ring or commission something bespoke?
Many collection designs can be made in alternative precious metals or set with a gemstone of your choice, preserving the integrity of the original design while making it genuinely your own. For a fully personal commission, our bespoke service allows every element to be shaped from the outset — metal, stone, setting, proportion, and finish — creating a piece of personalised jewellery that is entirely yours. Our team are pleased to advise on the approach that best suits your vision and your timeline.
Materials & Craftmanship
What is the difference between18ct gold and platinum rings?
Both solid 18ct gold and platinum are exceptional choices for fine rings, and the decision is as much about character as practicality. Platinum is denser and more resistant to wear, making it a particularly considered choice for engagement rings and pieces worn every day. Solid gold — available in yellow, white, and rose — offers a warmer, more varied palette and is equally enduring. Whether you choose a plain platinum band or a solid yellow gold ring set with diamonds or gemstones, our team will guide you toward the perfect fit for your lifestyle and preference.
Is platinum or gold suitable for everyday wear?
Daily wear requires durability and balance. Platinum and 18ct gold offer exceptional strength and enduring beauty — a plain band in any of these metals is a particularly considered choice for everyday elegance. For rings set with gemstones, the choice of stone and setting style also plays a role in suitability for regular wear. We will always advise on the metals and gemstones best suited to your intended lifestyle, and the pieces in our collection are designed with longevity as well as beauty in mind.
Do Blacklock rings come with certification?
Yes. All Blacklock rings are made in Britain and carry a UK hallmark — the independent assurance of metal composition and quality. Diamonds over 0.30 carats are independently certificated, and every ring over £1,000 is supplied with an insurance valuation and full authenticity documentation. These are not simply administrative details; they are the tangible expression of our commitment to transparency and lasting value.
Could my ring become an heirloom?
Craftsmanship and proportion determine longevity, and both are central to how every Blacklock ring is made. Each piece is designed in-house and crafted in Britain by master goldsmiths and setters, using 18ct gold, platinum and the finest natural gemstones. Timeless design and exceptional materials ensure relevance across generations. A Blacklock ring is more than a piece of jewellery — it is a symbol of enduring quality, made to be worn, cherished, and passed down.
Personalisation & Bespoke
How can I personalise a ring?
Every Blacklock ring can become a deeply personal piece. We can engrave a meaningful message — transforming a ring into a lasting symbol — set a hidden stone within the shank, explore mixed-metal combinations tailored to the wearer, or incorporate subtle design details that reflect your story. Personalisation allows a piece to become more than jewellery; it becomes a cherished keepsake, a meaningful gift for a friend or loved one, and an expression of something that cannot be replicated.
Can I commission a bespoke ring?
Yes. Our bespoke service allows every element to be shaped from the outset — metal, stone, setting, proportion, and finish. Whether you are seeking a specific gemstone, a particular silhouette, or an entirely original design, we guide you through the process from initial conversation to finished piece. You will work directly with Chris Blacklock and our in-house specialists, ensuring continuity of expertise and intention at every stage.
Fit, Gifting & Buying
How do I find my ring size?
A well-fitting ring should feel secure yet effortless — present on the hand but never intrusive. We are pleased to advise on ring sizing in person or remotely, and offer resizing within a month of purchase to ensure a perfect fit. A small charge applies for resizing beyond that period. If you are purchasing as a gift and are uncertain of the recipient's size, our team will guide you through the options available.
Are Blacklock rings a good gift?
A fine ring is among the most enduring and personal gifts in jewellery. Diamond rings mark milestones; plain gold bands celebrate the everyday with quiet permanence; bespoke gemstone rings carry the kind of personal meaning that lasts decades. Whether for friendship, love, or special occasions, our rings make a meaningful gift. We are pleased to assist with gift selection in person at our London showroom or via private consultation — all pieces are presented in Blacklock's signature packaging, and fully personalised options are available for those who wish to make a gift entirely their own.
Can I buy Blacklock rings online or do I need to visit in person?
You can browse and purchase from our full collection of rings online, with delivery across the UK — making a Blacklock ring a genuinely considered gift, wherever you are. We also warmly invite you to visit our London showroom, the nearest store to experience our rings in store, consult on your ideas, and explore the possibilities.
